For the first time, 30 children will be participating in Team-Emily Kids January 12, 2008
One of the best lessons a child can learn is that exercise and giving can be fun. Teach that, and you've laid the foundation for a lifetime of healthy living and philanthropy. Laying that foundation is what Team Emily Kids is all about.
Finishing a marathon is child's play with the Phoenix Children's Hospital Kids Rock: a one-mile fun run for children in grades kindergarten-6th. This non-competitive, non-timed event is all about having fun and making it to the finish line. Participants can become full marathon finishers by completing a 25.2-mile training program prior to January 12 or they can just run, walk or jog the one-mile course on race day.
Every child is a winner and will be rewarded with an official race number, T-shirt, goodie bag, free headliner concert and medal - just for finishing!

Deana, Taylore, and Payge have volunteered for TEAM EMILY KIDS 2008. This is our chance to give back and make a difference. We are hoping that you will join us in raising money, getting in shape, and finishing our Marathon at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Kids Rock (A P.F. Changs Rock and Roll Marathon Event) January 2008. Adults can join TEAM EMILY and participate in the P.F. Changs Rock and Roll Marathon on January 12, 2008. Adults visit the "Marathon" page for more information. You have the choice to run or walk the marathon or run or walk the half marathon.
We are asking that each child that joins TEAM Emily Kids raise $300.00 or more to be donated to the Emily Benson Scholarship for NAU students with disease or disabilities. We plan to meet every other Tuesday at 5:45 pm at the NAU Lumberjack Stadium; practice is from 6:00 pm- 7:00 pm, every other Monday at 3:30pm-4:30pm at Lumberjack Stadium, and/or every other Saturday at 8:00am-9:00am!! We hope that you can at least make one practice a week. Each child will need complete 25 miles prior to January 12, 2008 (RACE DAY). Our last mile will be run at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Kids Rock Event!
